Our students should not be led into believing schooling is merely to get jobs and have an income

Monday, February 28th, 2011 09:32:00

ONE of the key areas of focus in the context of Malaysia’s development strategy is education — and, rightly so. The emphasis is on quality education for developing (and the phrase being popularly used is) “quality human capital”.

The connotation is that by enhancing the quality of our human capital, our young people emerging from such a system would, specifically, be able to utilise their capabilities to access employment opportunities in an increasingly (a second trendy phrase) “knowledge-based economy” and, more broadly, contribute towards Malaysia’s achievement of (another in-phrase) “developed nation status”.

While the foregoing rationale for education undoubtedly has merit, we need to be on the guard that each of these phrases does not get reduced to a cliché.

More importantly, we should not lead our students and the population in general into believing that education is merely to get jobs, earn a living, have an income and the better the educational achievement the better the job, income and standard of living for individuals and the nation as a whole.

While all these are true in a narrow sense, we need to make a distinction between such commonly-held beliefs and the higher and wider purpose and goal of education.

Without a doubt, a meaningful education system will provide our young people with 21st century skills for a 21st century economy. In our high-tech digitally oriented era, education is a powerful element that can help us on the pathway to individual progress and nation-building.

But what we seem to think should be our “21st century” approach to education needs to be put into a broader context, one in which the anticipated personal and national gains must reflect civic, social, ethical and developmental qualities in individuals, communities and the nation.

Given that the focus of attaining higher levels of skills in subjects like mathematics, science, electronic technology, language and business — even when creativity, innovation and teamwork are mentioned — is overwhelmingly bent on the career path and economic mobility, this exclusivity precludes the less tangible, but equally intellectually and socially important aspects of a good education.

Alongside the ability to use a range of electronic technologies to access, synthesise and apply information, students’ capacities to think critically and ingeniously and evaluate the products of their thinking must be given every opportunity for development and expression.

Equally, building the ability to communicate effectively and collaborate with others, particularly in diverse and multicultural settings like ours, needs to be an integral and essential part of the educational process.

The importance of equity, justice, fairness, impartiality, mutual respect and the values of responsible citizenship and social stability, should be inculcated among students right from childhood through the entire education system.

Aesthetics, intellectual play, imagination, the pleasure of learning a subject and even just simply being enthusiastic when encouraged with the requisite guidance, will help all-round personality development and bring out the best in individuals.

The present is indeed a promising and a crucial time for education to be given high priority in the development process.

To raise the quality of learning, it is imperative the comprehensiveness of the curricula and its content and the corresponding orientation in teaching must be addressed.

Especially in the midst of momentous social, economic and political developments all around us, education should be the vehicle to impart both knowledge and an understanding of civic and personal values that enable a better appreciation of our common humanity and the mutual wellbeing and progress of our people and our nation.

Religious, yet rational society

Ikim Views

By MOHD ASHAM AHMAD

Fellow

Serious and continuous efforts have to be made to promote mutual respect through discussions on religion that are interesting, enjoyable, enriching and beneficial to all.

RELIGION, it is generally believed, is inherently “irrational” because it is based upon faith, and to hold to something on the basis of faith means to be firm in one’s conviction regardless of any apparent “evidence” to the contrary.

If we accept these premises we must also accept the conclusion that the faithful are irrational, and the stronger one’s faith is the more irrational one becomes. If rationality is a virtue, faith must be a vice and antithetical to peace and socio-political stability.

What may be the consequences for a minority if the majority hold a particular faith and are unwilling to be proven wrong? Will the minority be allowed to hold a different belief even if it is certain that, as far as the majority is concerned, the belief is wrong?

If we accept the first principle of Rukunegara we cannot be thinking along that line – unless we believe that our country is actually founded upon an irrational principle.

In our country, Islam is the official religion, and we can find among its citizens a significant number of followers of various faiths living side by side peacefully.

After more than 50 years of independence the people have achieved a lot of wonderful things together.

No right-thinking citizen of this country will want to see what we have painfully built destroyed by our own hands due to intolerance and bigotry in the name of religion.

But religion is also too important to the majority of us for it to be undermined in the name of peace and unity. It is the obligation of the Government to safeguard the special place of Islam and protect the rights of non-Muslims to practice their religions peacefully.

Nevertheless, religion is still generally regarded as a sensitive subject, which means it needs to be dealt with carefully because it is likely to cause disagreement or make certain people angry or upset, leading to communal violence and bloodshed.

If we want to have peaceful co-existence, logically we must not say or do certain things out of fear that the faithful might get offended or become upset. It means that a certain amount of fear must be maintained in order to maintain peace.

Fear is not altogether bad, but irrational fear is. Irrational fear is, to my mind, our real enemy and the greatest obstacle to progress and unity. This fear must be conquered before it goes out of control.

It is counter-productive as well as dangerous to restrain discussion on religion out of fear.

Today, people may publish on the Internet if they are not able to do so in the mainstream media. It is actually futile trying to restrict, let alone stop, people from doing that. It is like attempting to enforce ignorance, which we all know is the root cause of fanaticism and bigotry.

The real challenge now is how to make discussions on religion more interesting, enjoyable, enriching and beneficial to all. Serious and continuous efforts have to be made to promote mutual respect instead of fear (mixed with hatred) for our continued peaceful co-existence.

In order to understand and to be understood we need to talk to one another.

If we do not talk about religion how are we going to understand it, and make others understand and appreciate its importance in our personal and social life?

The need for dialogue is even greater today in a globalised world where access to information and misinformation is almost unlimited.

But how can we discuss if we believe that being faithful means being irrational? Who will dialogue with the irrational people?

This brings us back to the first question: is faith inherently irrational? Based on our experience so far we can confidently answer in the negative. We should work harder and smarter to ensure that faith and rationality prevails harmoniously.

In tandem with the first principle of Rukunegara, the Government should play an important role in encouraging and supporting both intra- and inter-faith dialogue. Religion should be seen as something good for society, and as such it has to be shared, promoted and defended.

If this effort is carried out properly and sincerely we may be able to foster better knowledge and understanding, and, based on that, a framework of cooperation may be worked out. It is within this framework that all outstanding religious issues may be properly adressed and resolved.

In this regard Muslims have an important role to play, and a huge responsibility to shoulder. They must show good example to other communities because it is through their action and behaviour that the non-Muslims get their perception of Islam.

Since they are the majority and are in charge of the affairs of the country they should be mature enough, particularly, in dealing with criticism. Criticism against certain conduct of Muslims must not be misconstrued as criticism against Islam.

It is possible that the criticism is due to ignorance of the true teaching of Islam. This point is reflected in the recent controversy over azan (call to prayer).

Everybody wants to live in peace, but peace of mind is more fundamental because it is personal. It has to do with one’s certainty about the nature of the ultimate reality, namely, about the nature and purpose of existence, about God, about the external world, and about what constitutes virtues and values.

These are the foundations of all religions. They explain why we live the way we do. They explain why we are different. They explain why religion matters to all of us.

These problems are only not to be solved but they have also to be adequately understood if we want to promote mutual respect among believers. Only then can issues related to rituals, practices and policies be properly addressed.

Plurality is not alien to Islam, and it does not and will never seek to eliminate it. Islam promotes peaceful co-existence based upon mutual-understanding. Hence Islamic religious and intellectual tradition strongly encourages rational discourse and condemns blind imitation and fanaticism.

From the very beginning Muslims have been aware of the need to articulate and defend their faith through a systematic application of rational principles.

Islamic culture is a culture of discourse and dialogue, and Malaysia has all the reasons to revive and promote this culture.

Only on the basis of a study of political processes in the masses themselves, can we understand the role of parties and leaders...................

Only on the basis of a study of political processes in the masses themselves, can we understand the role of parties and leaders, whom we least of all are inclined to ignore.

The swift changes of mass views and moods in an epoch of revolution thus derive, not from the flexibility and mobility of man’s mind, but just the opposite, from its deep conservatism. The chronic lag of ideas and relations behind new objective conditions, right up to the moment when the latter crash over people in the form of a catastrophe, is what creates in a period of revolution that leaping movement of ideas and passions which seems to the police mind a mere result of the activities of “demagogues.” The masses go into a revolution not with a prepared plan of social reconstruction, but with a sharp feeling that they cannot endure the old rgime. Only the guiding layers of a class have a political program, and even this still requires the test of events, and the approval of the masses. The fundamental political process of the revolution thus consists in the gradual comprehension by a class of the problems arising from the social crisis the active orientation of the masses by a method of successive approximations. The different stages of a revolutionary process, certified by a change of parties in which the more extreme always supersedes the less, express the growing pressure to the left of the masses so long as the swing of the movement does not run into objective obstacles. When it does, there begins a reaction: disappointments of the different layers of the revolutionary class, growth of indifferentism, and therewith a strengthening of the position of the counter-revolutionary forces. Such, at least, is the general outline of the old revolutions. Only on the basis of a study of political processes in the masses themselves, can we understand the role of parties and leaders, whom we least of all are inclined to ignore. They constitute not an independent, but nevertheless a very important, element in the process. Without a guiding organisation, the energy of the masses would dissipate like steam not enclosed in a piston-box. But nevertheless what moves things is not the piston or the box, but the steam. The difficulties which stand in the way of studying the changes of mass consciousness in a revolutionary epoch are quite obvious. The oppressed classes make history in the

factories, in the barracks, in the villages, on the streets of the cities. Moreover, they are least of all accustomed to write things down. Periods of high tension in social passions leave little room for contemplation and reflection. All the muses even the plebeian muse

of journalism, in spite of her sturdy hips have hard sledding in times of revolution. Still the historian’s situation is by no means hopeless. The records are incomplete, scattered, accidental. But in the light of the events themselves these fragments often permit a guess as to the direction and rhythm of the hidden process. For better or worse, a revolutionary party bases its tactics upon a calculation of the changes of mass consciousness. The historic course of Bolshevism demonstrates that such a calculation, at least in its rough features, can be made. If it can be made by a revolutionary leader in the whirlpool of the struggle, why not by the historian afterwards? However, the processes taking place in the consciousness of the masses are not unrelated and independent. No matter how the idealists and the eclectics rage, consciousness is nevertheless determined by conditions. In the historic conditions which formed Russia, her economy, her classes, her State, in the action upon her of other states, we ought to be able to find the premises both of the February revolution and of the October revolution which replaced it. Since the greatest enigma is the fact that a backward country was the first to place the proletariat in power, it behoves us to seek the solution of that enigma in the peculiarities of that backward country that is, in its differences from other countries.

(Bernama) - KUALA LUMPUR -- The family of Teoh Beng Hock has shown "clear disrespect" to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong by boycotting the Commission of Inquiry into the political aide's death, a former Court of Appeal judge said today.

Shaik Daud Ismail, who retired from the judiciary in 2001, said all parties involved should give the CI due recognition and respect because it was set up on the command of the king.

"The parties must give it the trust and respect that it deserves and, mind you, it was set up by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong. It was not appointed by the prime minister. No doubt, the prime minister can suggest so-and-so to be members of the panel but the king can say no if he wants somebody else,” he told Bernama in an interview in response to the debate on the withdrawal of Teoh's family from the CI.

Teoh’s sister, brother, parents and their two lawyers walked out of the CI proceedings on Feb 16 after they failed to stay proceedings for the second time.

The DAP political aide had fallen to his death at Plaza Masalam in Shah Alam on July 16, 2009 after being questioned by officers of the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission which has an office at the building.

Shaik Daud, when asked if those who did not respect the CI also showed no respect for the king said: "Yes, show your respect to the CI in the light of the fact that the appointment is by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong. Allow them to carry

on their work."

He said he just could not understand the reason for the boycott when it was the Teoh family that had "craved, asked and demanded" for the commission to be established, but then pulled out even before it could begin its work.

Asked if he thought they and the lawyers were trying to politicise the issue, Shaik Daud said: “Forget about your politics for the time being because everybody wants to know what happened to Teoh Beng Hock.

“It’s not only the family, I’m sure the whole country wants to know what happened to him. So it’s their duty to help the commission to come to a verdict”.

Shaik Daud also spoke of the action by Karpal Singh and his son, Gobind Singh Deo, the lawyers for the family, to recuse commission chairman James Foong Cheng Yuen on the ground that he was still a serving member of the judiciary. Foong is a Federal Court judge.

He said it did not make any difference to the workings of the CI whether a sitting judge was appointed as chairman.

"He is a very senior judge. And he has proven to be a very straight man, so whether he is sitting now as a judge or not doesn’t make any difference.

“To appoint somebody like James Foong, I see no difference. After all, you have two members of the panel who are ex-judges, you have check and balance already."

The other members of the panel are former Federal Court judge Abdul Kadir Sulaiman, former Court of Appeal judge T. Selventhiranathan, Penang Hospital senior consultant forensic pathologist Dr Bhupinder Singh and Cyberjaya University College of Medical Sciences' dean and consultant forensic psychiatrist Prof Dr Mohamed Hatta Shaharom.

Shaik Daud said it was also too premature for the family and their lawyers to accuse the CI chairman of being biased as the CI had not even started its proceedings at the time of their boycott.

“Let them start first. If you see the chairman is biased, then only you can bring it up. But before even starting, how do you know a person is biased?” he asked.

On the position taken by Karpal Singh, one of Malaysia’s most senior lawyers, to withdraw from the CI because Foong is a serving judge, Shaik Daud expressed surprise.

He said judges during his time respected Karpal Singh and, when he appeared before them, they never considered that he was in the political opposition.

"As far as I’m concerned, I’ve known him since 1964 when he was practising in Alor Setar and I was president of the Sessions Court. I find him a very straight person, very diligent, very hardworking, and he doesn’t waste the time of the court,” he said.

He also agreed with views that the Teoh family had everything to lose by boycotting the inquiry.

“It would make some difference because they may want to bring some evidence which now they cannot because they are not there. So it’s better for them to be there and they can tell the judge, as chairman of the commission, that they want to call so-and-so and hear the evidence."

Shaik Daud explained that in a commission of inquiry, anybody who had information on the matter could offer himself or herself to be a witness.

On the objection by the family to the Attorney-General’s Chambers having its own personnel as conducting officers, he said these officers were not appointed by the attorney-general but the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and they owed a duty to the king and not to the AG for this particular case.

If, during the course of the proceedings, the family members found that the officers were trying to be biased and not independent, they could always alert the commission, but following their withdrawal they no longer had the opportunity to do so.

He also recalled the good work done by a previous royal commission of inquiry into the assault of former Deputy Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim while in police custody in 1998.

Shaik Daud said it was only after the setting up of the royal commission that new evidence came out that was not known before leading to the finger being pointed at the then Inspector-General of Police Rahim Noor as the man who had assaulted Anwar.

He said it took a royal commission to find out the truth as, prior to that, the IGP’s subordinates and officers dared not come forward.

“This is the best example I can give on (the effectiveness) of a royal commission of inquiry,” said Shaik Daud, adding that Rahim’s appeal against his two-month jail sentence and a fine of RM2,000 for the assault was the last case he heard before he retired.

Judges get senile soon after they retire. That is if they are not intellectually engaged. There is no no disrespect to the Agong. The RCI is given all powers to compel their attendance if their attendances are required. The Teohs have a right not to attend if there is no complusion. Have you forgotten the law Judge? ..

What do you have to say about the VK Lingam RCI where the recommendations of the RCI were left hanging in the air. Isn't that also disrespectful to the King? Unfortunately in Malaysia, semua boleh and semua OK. That is why respect for the Institutions are eroding daily.

(Bernama) - PAS spiritual leader Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat said today that he did not ask to be born Malay.

The Kelantan Mentri Besar added that it was only by coincidence that he was born in this country.

Nik Aziz said that it did not matter what community he was born into as long as he was a Muslim.

He was responding to a statement by Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad that he should be grateful for being born Malay because this meant that he would be Muslim.

Nik Aziz said that all races were the same, and what made a person special was that he was a Muslim.

He said that he was striving for Islam as a religion of moderation and was opposed to extremism which contradicted Islam.

There are many billions of people throughout the world who consider themselves religious. Generally each of them adheres to a particular religious tradition, which is in many ways similar and also in many ways different from other religious traditions. Often, they consider that their tradition is the only valid tradition, and that others who are not participants in their tradition are lost souls condemned to be denied access to the kingdom of God. In this way, they fail to see the true universal nature of religion. Unfortunately this exclusivist mentality leads to increasing chaos and conflict in a world that is already too much overburdened by chaos and conflict. Religion is supposed to be God's gift to man so that he can have a heaven on earth and qualify to return to God's kingdom upon leaving his current body. So what is going wrong? And what can be done to change it?

What's going wrong is that we approach God to fulfill our desires instead of His desires. In other words we approach Him with our contaminated consciousness of subtly considering ourselves to be the Supreme. We place ourselves over Him by asking Him to serve us instead of us serving Him. This is selfishness, not selflessness. And this is what is going wrong in the hearts of practically everyone who approaches God. To change this we must teach that selfless service to Supreme Person is the only way that one can experience genuine complete happiness. If the hand wants to get nourishment, it must give the food to the belly. God is like the belly and we are like the hand. So we must give everything to God. In this way, we will be the best servants of God and all living beings including ourselves.

So, the universal religion is pure selfless service to the Supreme Person, the source of all existence. The language of the universal religion takes different shapes according to the different traditions. But when one goes deep enough into any one tradition, he will arrive at exactly the same conclusion as anyone else who follows his own religious tradition deeply enough. Therefore instead of getting side tracked by the differences of the religious traditions, we should immediately try to capture the pure essence of religion, the universal religion of pure, unadulterated, selfless, loving service for the Supreme Person.

The difficulty is that we currently have a drastic shortage of enlightened teachers on this planet who are fully tuned into the original, pure essence of religion, the universal religion of pure selfless devotion to God. An enlightened teacher is someone who has gone deep enough into his own tradition to find the one universal root of all traditions. He is a teacher who has fully realized the one universal or absolute truth underlying all relative truths. If planet earth had a sufficient abundance of such enlightened teachers in each tradition, there could be instituted a global educational system which would easily bring to this tattered global society a truly profound golden era of peace, prosperity, and happiness for all ...

earthman,

I still think the Malays would be better off if they were not Muslim. They wouldn’t have so many negative habits as they have now, and who knows, they could be a superior race. See what temenggong has written. I feel and see the same. Islam is a wrong religion for anybody.

I think there are no such things as heaven and hell. Heaven and hell exist only in human imagination. ‘Heaven’ and ‘hell’ are just two words coined by some wise guy. If there were heaven and hell, they would be here on earth. If you are leading a happy and satisfied life, free from many of human difficulties, you are in heaven. Someone else may be suffering a good deal of misfortune in life, then that person is living in hell. Muslims believe strongly in heaven and hell, and now they themselves are exploiting it in a very dangerous way. Claiming that they could get 72 virgins in heaven gave rise to suicide bombers. This is a needless loss of lives not only of the suicide bomber but also those innocent victims. ..

Hello People..get one thing straight...To be a Muslim or even convert to be Muslim does not mean you have become Malay..!!!
If you cannot understand that race has nothing to do with religion then go crawl into a cave and live with the most ridiculous understanding one has of mankind, society and life...!
I am a convert Muslim and I am not Malay..I couldn't be for I was not born of Malay parentage...Furthermore I don't have to be a Malay to practise Islam and live my life with the spiritual and essence of Islam..

Ask this question if you choose the Roman Catholic faith would you be Roman or Italian??!!

Ask again if you choose to find peace in the Hindu faith does it mean you are Indian and therefore come from India??!!

What is the matter with Malaysiansthe Politicians and the Leaders of Faith? The Malays were Hindus and Buddiths even before being introduced to Islam not too many centuries ago..

It does not mean a race is privileged when they born to profess any faith..GOD had brought Faith to Man from the time of Adam and Eve and Mankind has failed him numerous times and today we have people thinking to declare themselves more privileged than the other for the person was of such different faiths when they were babies once, who many did not have a choice but carry on the same faith bestowed at birth...

The kind-hearted Nik Aziz is absolutely right for he speaks of how he feels special to be born Muslim. As he sees his religion to be special, one bestowed upon him at birth and where he found no need to stray from..And he is absolutely right when he said he did not ask to be born Malay..

Like I did not ask to be born of my race,I surely did not ask to be born in Malaysia making me Malaysian..With the crap that goes on in Malaysia,I rather be born in far away Amazon jungle or maybe in any Scandinavian Country..I would surely find peace and sense...!! ...

(Bernama) - Home Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein said the planned demonstration by Hindraf in Kuala Lumpur Sunday to protest against the novel "Interlok" had failed as there was poor response from the people.

He said the demonstration, which he believed was supported by certain quarters, was organised to create a similar situation as in Tunisia and Egypt which were seeing a public uprising against the governments of these countries.

"Their effort failed as there was poor response, while they (organisers and participants of the demonstration) had also violated the law and inconvenienced the public," he said after simultaneously opening the annual general meetings of the Umno branches in Perak.

He was earlier asked to comment on the arrest of 109 people including eight Hindraf leaders and human rights activists by police in the federal capital today.

Hishammuddin, who is also Umno vice-president, also confirmed that Hindraf chief P.Uthayakumar was among those arrested.

The minister said he was waiting for a detailed report from the Inspector-General of Police (Tan Sri Ismail Omar) on the arrests made.

"According to a report I received this morning, it was not a big demonstration. The many Indians who had gathered at Batu Caves were there for a religious event and not for a street demonstration," he added.

Kuala Lumpur police chief Datuk Zulkifli Abdullah said those arrested included eight women, while two reporters from the alternative media were arrested under Section 186 of the Penal Code for obstructing the functions of the police.

Aged 18 to 66, the protesters arrested were being detained for up to 24 hours in accordance with Section 27 (5) of the Police Act for taking part in an illegal demonstration, and Section 45 (1) of the Societies Act 1966.

Amazingly stupid statement indeed, coming from Hishammuddin! It's like Hitler saying that he'll shoot everybody who comes to the rally, so when no one comes, Hitler can claim that the poor turnout shows the rally to be a failure. Come on, use your common sense and logic for once, Hishammuddin! Such is the quality of our so-called ministers that you become the laughing stock of the world, and an embarrassment to Malaysia. Can someone please compile these nonsensical utterances of UMNO 'leaders' into a book for posterity? ..

HIGH JOBLESSNESS IS A CLEAR INDICATOR OF POOR ECONOMIC PERFORMANCE....

Jeffrey: Sabah Development Corridor failing

Queville To

February 24, 2011

Unemployment rate high despite grandoise promises of jobs under the 18-year plan which began in 2009.

KOTA KINABALU: The Sabah Development Corridor (SDC) has failed to bring much benefit to the unemployed in the state, according to the United Borneo Front (UBF).

UBF chief Jeffrey Kitingan said the failure is evident from high unemployment rate in the state despite a promise that close to a million jobs would be created through the SDC.

He said SDC’s 18-year plan, from 2009 to 2026, at a totalcost of RM105 billion should provide on average 50,000 jobs at an investment of RM5.8 billion annually.

Jeffrey cited a recent controversy where 578 teachers have been made to wait for ‘ministerial directions’ after their contracts ended last year despite a shortage of teachers in the state.

He said the state government should not pass the buck to the Ministry of Education when it had previously, through the SDC, pledge that more jobs would be available in the state.

“These figures seem incredible and almost impossible yet the state government made these promises, set up the Sabah Development Corridor, and entrusted the Sabah Economic Development and Investment Authority (Sedia) as a one stop authority to drive the SDC.

“Either something is seriously wrong in the financial machinery of the Sabah government or they deliberately made promises they could never keep,” said Jeffrey.

He said Prime Minister Najib Tun Razak should look into this matter seriously as it reflected badly on the entire nation. Jeffrey also questioned the lack of data on unemployment in Sabah.

He said with all the SDC projects and tenders, it would be interesting to know how far Sedia had kept its promise of enhancing the quality of life of the people by accelerating the growth of Sabah’s economy.

Effective policies needed

He noted that the 2009 data showed that with over 1.3 million people in the Sabah labour force, the participation rate was at 65.6% and the unemployment rate stood at 6.1%.

“We must stop thinking that the federal government owes this state a 100% responsibility to accommodate the needs of Sabahans as that will prove that the state government is nothing more than a federal proxy.

“If we have the money as promised by SDC to accommodate employment needs in the state, it should have by now identified new industries to create job opportunities and maximise local human capital.

“The government must not make references to developments and investments made by the private sector as if it was their own. They have to come up with their own initiative and create 50,000 jobs annually as promised by the SDC,” he said.

Jeffrey said it was pointless to complain about the disparities between local and west Malaysian teachers in terms of pay, allowances and perks as nothing had changed in the attitude of the federal and state governments in dealing with the issue over 47 years.

He said that what has happened is that the government has allowed for a greater division even between teachers in west and east.

“It is important to realise that the state education department, the ministry of education and public service department have stuck with policies which basically don’t work.

“It boils down to attitude. They have not gone to the ground to implement effective policies which would work.

“The only thing we can do is look at our state coffers and responsibly invest as so nobly promised in the SDC blueprint.

“Be an economically responsible government and keep those promises.

Don’t just enrich a few,” he advised.

Jeffrey said UBF would be invited to discuss the state of Sabah’s economy at a planned inter-party dialogue and leadership seminar on March 5

No Matter How Much People Hate UMNO or BN, There Are Thousands and Thousands of Malaysians Continue to Love Tun Mahathir!!

No Matter How Much People Hate UMNO or BN, There Are Thousands and Thousands of Malaysians Continue to Love Tun Mahathir!!

By Kee Thuan Chye

BOOK REVIEW Gush and glibness spread through Tom Plate's 'Doctor M: Operation Malaysia - Conversations with Mahathir Mohamad' like irksome background noise. And rather than show us the former prime minister of Malaysia for what he is, Plate tells us how to picture him.

One of the most fawning comments Plate (left) makes about Mahathir, whom he generously plugs as a “soft authoritarian”, is that “the best doctors are almost always soft authoritarians. They make you take the medicine that's good for you, whether you like it or not.”

That's hard to swallow, and not just because it's a gross generalisation.

The American career journalist's book of his interviews with Mahathir is essentially gung-ho journalism as entertainment - with the non-self-effacing interviewer appearing as a commentator as well (sometimes as a stand-up comic, too), and the subject airbrushed to look like a hero.

To be sure, we get glimpses into the subject's dark side, but only enough to give the required colouring.

Plate hails Mahathir during his 22 years in office as “arguably the world's single most important practising Muslim national political leader”. In typical hyperbolic fashion, he dubs Mahathir “the ultimate anti-al-Qaeda” (my italics).
“Jews may think he is their enemy, and maybe they are right. But in my view they have got it wrong - tragically wrong.”

That's the main thesis of his book, and he goes all out to affirm it. He is amazed - and impressed - that during Mahathir's rule, Islamic terrorism erupted in many parts of the world whereas Malaysia was totally free of violence. That, for him, accounts for Mahathir's prowess as an Islamic leader to be lauded by the world.

Any sensible Malaysian could have told him that this was simply because Mahathir created a culture of fear. He had the ISA and an excellent Special Branch that could nip any trouble in the bud. He did not tolerate public dissent and he muzzled the media.

Plate takes the line that “maybe this place doesn't have as many crazies as Indonesia, but it must have some” and asks Mahathir: “What was it about Dr M's management of Malaysia, his government's management of the Muslims? They were responsible citizens.”

Again, any sensible Malaysian could have told him it was because Mahathir gave paramountcy to Islam and Muslims. So why should Malaysian Muslims be disgruntled? And as for Islamic terrorists from outside, why would they target Malaysia, a brother Muslim country?

Protective of thesis

Plate is barking up the wrong tree. His thesis is flawed. But he appears ever protective of it.

There is even one occasion, as recounted in the book, when Plate seems more protective of his thesis than having the opportunity of portraying what Mahathir really is. This is over Mahathir's assertion that there were hardly any Jews in the World Trade Centre when 9/11 happened.

To himself, Plate admits that this “seemed a borderline scary assertion, factually inaccurate (in fact, there were hundreds of Jews among the fatalities)”. But he doesn't correct Mahathir.

Instead, he feels worried that Mahathir might say more, that he might endorse “the ludicrous hypothesis that the government of Israel had secretly orchestrated the 9/11 attacks”. And when Mahathir doesn't say more, Plate actually sighs “with enormous relief”.

“It became one of those rare times in our conversations that I was truly glad to see him pull up, for to doubt his maturity (not to mention his mental health) would not be healthy for the book. Or for my thesis that Mahathir's life and views are of profound relevance today.”

Plate notes that a few months later, “after we finished our series of conversations”, Mahathir “came out with a lulu” when he said if the US was capable of making the movie Avatar, it was capable of staging 9/11.

That, as Malaysians know, was one of the most laughable statements ever made by anyone, but Plate merely leaves it as a by-the-by. Obviously, pursuing it would have compromised his thesis.

He is generally gentle with Mahathir. He is seldom confrontational; he asks politely framed questions, and when an issue looks in danger of getting heated, he eases off.

Thus, when it comes to the issue of some of “Dr M's relatives (being) worth plenty, and that the good doctor himself has funds and shares stashed here and there (and especially in Japan) and everywhere”, he doesn't push it. He chooses instead to project Mahathir as the humble wage-earner who as PM made less than US$3,000 a month, “like a meagre US journalist's pension”.

Mahathir comes out looking like a saint who says he's not greedy and that his “real reward is achievement”.

When it comes to Malaysian issues, Plate often does not ask the right questions or press on with relevant follow-up ones.

Here's one question he could have asked Mahathir but did not when the latter said he was against detaining the 106 people during Operasi Lalang: “Why then did you, as Home Minister, sign the order to detain 40 of them for two years?”

When Plate asks, “Does the government of Malaysia have good control over ISA?” and Mahathir answers, “Yes”, he could have followed that up with: “Then why did the government detain an innocent journalist under the ISA in 2008 and even say, stupidly, that it was for her own protection?”

Alarmingly, Plate goes to the extent of justifying Mahathir's management style as “politically efficient corruption”. One would have thought corruption was corruption, but Plate prettifies it here: “Dr M kind of bribed the whole country to behave! … (it) produces something of value that cannot always be quantifiable: getting key elements of a society to buy into the system so as to attain political stability ... it may be the most politically efficient.”
This would normally belong in the realm of spin-doctoring, but in journalism these days, you never know!

In any case, Plate's book is not hard-talk, hard-core journalism stuff. It's written for a popular audience, and comes complete with hyperboles, corny bits (“If nothing else, the Proton was further evidence … of Dr M's protean will”) and naïve remarks by the author.

His chapter titles, modelled after the James Bond movies for the laughable reason that Mahathir is a man of action, are not only corny but also strained. A bad-taste example is 'Die Another Way?', the chapter on the 9/11 deaths.

On the whole, 'Dr M: Operation Malaysia' seems closer to cosmetic surgery than dissection. For a more substantial interview, without the pop and the corn and the showman-like sheen, you'd be better off reading 'Hard Truths'

F**k you Plate!! If you love this racist so much please be welcomed to stay here then you can taste some of his poison still flowing freely from his mouth. This is because he "controls," every PM after him and will demonise anyone who don't listen to him, esp his racist propaganda. He is the greatest EVIL that walked this country.Till today he constantly taunts and villifies non-Malays and entertains grand notions of himself when he was just a robber baron who started robbing from the people when he snatched the victory from Tengku Razaleigh by vote cheating.

My Advise to the Indians and Chinese Students (in the spirits of 1Malaysia), just treat "Interlok" as another ordinary Malay book where the controversial contents can be challenged in class by the affected students. Are the prejudiced Malay teachers prepared to answer those controversies going to be raised by the affected ethnic students (as advised by their parents)?

Three States’ Chinese Assembly Hall Youth Section urge the Ministry of Education to withdraw “Interlok” as Form Five syllabus for Malays literature on the ground that this controversial novel is only suitable to be a counter-example for secondary school students to learn about racial discrimination, but not as a literature textbook.

After reading through the novel “Interlok”, Chinese Assembly Hall Youth Section of Kuala Lumpur & Selangor, Melaka and Negeri Sembilan have issued a statement today, stating that the Ministry of Education shouldn’t select this novel as the compulsory textbook for the students at this time when the Perkasa is repeatedly yelling for Malay supremacy. This will be seen as an action to help race based political parties like UMNO to continue its social construction through racial discrimination and biasness, which will further destroy the interracial relationship among Malaysians.

Although this novel depicted the era from Japan Occupation until Malaya gained its independence and how Malays, Chinese and Indians strived for survival during that period, the content of the novel is full of racial discrimination and biasness. Besides reinforcing the stereotype of Chinese and Indians are outsiders and immigrants, Chinese are deceitful and greedy, this novel also unconsciously promotes the idea of Malay supremacy in many of its chapters. This is exactly what a race based political party like UMNO would need to serve its political agenda.

Hence, Muhyiddin Yassin as the Minister of Education and Deputy President of UMNO is responsible to explain the considerations of the Ministry of Education to choose this novel as the compulsory literature textbook for Form Five students.

The three states’ Chinese Assembly Hall Youth Section also condemn some of the commentators who define this book as historical writing as there are a lot of factual mistakes in the book, for example Chinese Anti-Japanese Army was depicted as wanting to build a small China in Malaya and Indian society was described as thinking that the Indian government takes better care of the Indians compared to Malaya government. These do not reflect the comprehensiveness of the historical reality.

The three youth groups respect the freedom expression of every writer. However, they are in an opinion that political agenda should not be embedded into educational affairs. Thus, the Ministry of Education should not have amended the school syllabus and selected “Interlok” as the compulsory textbook unless it is treated as a counter-example of racial discrimination.

Lastly, Kuala Lumpur & Selangor, Melaka and Negeri Sembilan Chinese Assembly Hall Youth Section hope that civil societies which concern about racial relation in Malaysia should recognize the “Interlok” issue and do not treat this as a problem only faced by one single race.
Ng Chong Soon

Chairman Of KLSCAH Youth Section

If that is the case, there is nothing wrong with "Interlok" as the Malays are worst than the "Pariahs"!!

How can there be One Malaysia when the Malays in terms of wealth, are actually second class citizens in the country?

By By Mat Goneng

Mr. John Malott’s essay on the “The Price of Malaysia’s Racism” which appeared in the Wall Street Journal of 8th February 2011 lacks depth.

Reading his article one would conclude that the Malay race is the richest racial group in Malaysia. Far from it, on the contrary, the average income of the Malays at RM3,500 is the lowest. The Indians average income is RM4,500 and the Chinese RM6,200.

But that is not the full story. Of the thousands of SMEs in the country, the Malays own less than 5% of the total and if one looks at the export of manufactured goods (rubber, wood, plastic based, etc) which are strongly supported by the Malaysian government through its agencies, MATRADE and MIDA, the biggest beneficiary are the Chinese and Indian SMEs with more than 95% of the total export.

When the “actual profits” from manufacturing are considered the actual average income of the non-Malays could be three or four times higher than that of the Malays.

It’s true that 90% of the civil service, police and military staff are Malays but these are all low paying jobs. What is troubling is that when Malaysia reaches a developed nation status with a targeted per capita income of RM49,500, the largest number of Malaysians whose income will be below the targeted average will be the Malays. How can there be One Malaysia when the Malays in terms of wealth, are actually second class citizens in the country?

What is a tragedy for the Malays is that neither the present government nor the opposition has clear, effective policy implementations to address the big issues confronting the Malays. Basically, the Malays are very weak and despite their poor economic status, have been accommodating the request of the non-Malays as though they (the Malays) have achieved huge successes in Malaysia.

As a race the Malays are just docile and pathetic. Despite being the poorest, it’s not the Malays but the Indians who went to the streets to protest their so-called disadvantaged position. At the rate the country progresses, when Malaysia reaches a developed nation status, the Malays will remain the poorest in the country and lulled by their false symbols of supremacy in the Prime Minister, King, Sultans, administrators, soldiers and policemen being Malays.

Mr. Malott has to really rewrite the superficiality of his thoughts. Malaysia is a complex country to understand and govern and all considered has actually done quite well.

However, UMNO and cronies control banking and finance, transport, oil and gas, plantations, communications, power generation, etc and starting to control retail, insurance, construction and development, etc. 53 years of UMNO rule has resulted in the biggest rich poor divide among the Malays compared to other races. ..

Other than gorenging hatred, what have you been doing all these years?

Did you start any SME and provide employment, contribute to the economy and pay taxes? Have you????

Your claim that 95% of SME belong to non-malays may not be true anymore as many are closing shop to just emigrate or relocate the operations to other countries and people like you can have all the action to yourselves.

Soon, many people will be jobless and you can blame it all on the non-malays for closing shop!

This country is not conducive to encourage local investment and re-investments(EXPANSION) with dungus like you whose only aim in life is to goreng rubbish about Chinese and Indians who stole all your rights.

written by truthbespoken, February 24, 2011 14:51:58

Mat Goneng, you haven't got it all figured out yet, have you? The truth is the nons had worked and tolled for every cent they made and are still doing so. Because of the introduction of the NEP since the 1970s, the Malays were widely pampered with privileges, now so-called rights, so much so most common Malays have only to stretched out their hands to get what they have been getting, but only the crumbs.

And with the change of the medium of instruction, they even became less exposed and competitive. Time had proven that many had become a demanding and parasited lot in society. If the government policies and implementation are not corrected soon, the common Malays, even the nons, are not going to be any better off and will continue to suffer at the hands of the ruling, corrupt and arrogant UMNOputras. They are the real culprits who have stalled the progress of the common Malays as well as the nons by squandering the Nation's wealth big time and just leaving the aforesaid crumbs to some. Then, how on earth can the official figures on ownership ever tally with what is actually happening on the ground? Not in a million years! The figures are a big lie intentionally created by UMNOputras and their slavedogs from time to time to further enhance their political might with the help and support of the gullible common Malays.

The words and actions of the UMNOputras are always contradictory and full of deceit!. UMNO may not be the destroyer of the Malays but they are sure the ones who had held back the progress of the common Malays so they may continue to control them. Otherwise how could one explain why the common Malays are still making so much noises, even blaming and threatening the nons at times, after 40 years of the so-called affirmative programs?

Think, Mat, ask UMNO for the appropriate answers and if they repent and do not continue to lie, you should find all your problems and answers from them. They are the source of the Malay and Malaysian woes in this country. Don't blame the nons who are just struggling for survival in their own country largely without any help from any quarters. Blame the real culprit, UMNO, and vote them out! ...

Hello Mat Goreng,
First of all, I will not challenge whatever stats you have conjured up in your essay. I think most of us know that stats are just that - stats - which are easily manipulated and presented in as many ways as there are statisticians.

Secondly, we do not have access to any truly independent studies of the distribution of wealth in the country. Your friends in UMNO had already made sure of that, otherwise we would have gorenged them in the last decade, why wait until now.

Thirdly, your concluding phrase is erroneous - it should be - "despite the UMNO government, the country has actually done quite well" and not as you said - "all things considered".

Mat Goreng, you are either blind or completely stupid. Lets for a minute consider that your stats about average income is accurate - you failed, yes you fcuking failed to compute or impute the cost of living for the NON-Malays. Despite having a higher average income as per your stats, the NONs have to pay for higher housing costs (the Malays enjoy discounts), higher income tax due to higher bracket, higher costs of education because a NON-Malay kid with a string of As is not guaranteed a place in a local university, NONs do not get special treatment when it comes to pelabur for shares, etc etc.

On the hand, the Malays get almost everything they want almost without having to pay for some of those things. New IPOs also Malays get preference. Even a retard gets to study engineering in a local university. Beli rumah also get discount even if you are already a jutawan. Aiya! I don't want to write anymore about the excesses - all paid for by NON Malays' taxes.

So, Mat Goreng, what the fcuk are you talking about?

Go fcuk your UMNO for the ills suffered by the Malays, don't whine and later dine with the sickos from UMNOs.

And bradder Goreng, we are talking about saving the fcuking country and not just saving the Malays or Indians or the Cinakuis. Faham tak?

So, don't take us for fools, yeah? In fact its fcukers like you who confuse the rural folks - whether Malay or Indian or Cinakuis about the state of affairs in our country and in the process they continue to vote in the fcuking UMNO and their consorts.

So, yes, Mat Goreng is right on ONLY one point and that is: How could there be 1 Malaysia? (when you have people like Mat Goreng writing rubbish). ..

Malaysian government through its agencies, MATRADE and MIDA, the biggest beneficiary are the Chinese and Indian SMEs with more than 95% of the total export.
========

Mat Goneng, what the hell is happening with 52 billion given to the Malays and with all the special help in the form of grants , special loans etc.

What it show here is that the Chinese, Indians and others are working hard and contributing to the country's coffer in the form of taxes and job creation. These are the real patriots.

Why are you blaming the non Malays instead of looking inwards and asking yourself why with all the special help, the Malays are still not making the expected progress?. The straight forward answer is that when one can "beg" and survive there is no incentive to really work. Why sweat when all one need is to shout like Ibrahing Eli and be able to get a bag full of gold just by citing Ketuanan shit ?. ..

It is 'Mat Goneng' who has "superficiality" of thought. This is really not a Malay versus non-Malay issue. The issue is one of gross corruption whereby UMNO, in the guise of the Malaysian government, proclaims Malay supremacy to induce people like Mat Goneng to continue to vote for them in a racist manner, while at the same time siphoning away BILLIONS of ringgit to themselves and their cronies, money which could have been used to improve the lot of all the Malays in the country. Do you really believe that these BILLIONS will be reflected in the figures quoted as average income of the races as supplied by the UMNO government? Come on, Mat, don't kid yourself. You have voted for a party that has stolen BILLIONS from your race, and yet you continue to vote for them... ..

Blame it on the misguided malays who stubbornly refused to wake up to their senses that they are being misled to believe that the government owes them a living!!!

"Austronesian DNA" (aka Malay DNA) is the End Product of Mongoloid and Dravidic DNA coitus. This simply means that, in the Malaysian context, Malay=Chindians. Or, in some Politician's Words, "The end Product of Beggars and Prostitutes Copulating"

John Doe

Deoxyribonucleic acid (/diˌɒksiˌraɪbɵ.njuːˌkleɪ.ɨk ˈæsɪd/, or DNA, is a nucleic acid that contains the genetic instructions used in the development and functioning of all known living organisms. For UMNO to want to charge Anwar in court is to mean that they believe in DNA (like Religion), and have every confidence in it. It also means that it is NOT up for discussion or dispute, and DNA profiling has also been known to sometimes be THE ONLY evidence to confirm and send a convicted Criminal to his death.

In other words, DNA test is irrefutable. It is provable, and is above all reproach. No amount of swearing on any Koran is going to change a thing. Am I right?

Previously, I wrote and detailed how the "Austronesian DNA" (aka Malay DNA) is the End Product of Mongoloid and Dravidic DNA coitus. This simply means that, in the Malaysian context, Malay=Chindians. Or, in some Politician's Words, "The end Product of Beggars and Prostitutes Copulating".

Today, I will make another revelation. One which many will find hard to swallow (unlike Saiful). In fact, this will change the Mind's Landscape for many. Either make DNA HARAM from now on, and tag it as "the work of the Devil", or embrace it and obtain a whole fresh new perspective in Life.

DNA is NOT a Religion. It is evidence. It is evidence which tells us beyond reproach that what is in our bodies. And how all living matter is closely related. DNA is NOT asking or begging one to "believe". It is about rigorous-testing, and is cross-tested against sample after sample after sample. It is testable, and if found to be conclusive, is irrefutable. (Whether one chooses to believe it or not, becomes insignificant)

Let us begin. DNA tells us that we, humans are 98% similar to Chimpanzees. In fact, the average human IQ-score is 120, and a Chimpanzee's is 100. Should anyone's IQ Score fall below 100, (such as UMNO), should be removed from Political Office. Why? because that person's IQ is less than that of a Chimpanzee !! And who wants their country to be run by a person with less IQ than that of a common monkey?

Let's move on. The DNA profile tells us that we, Homo Sapiens moved out of Africa at around 120 thousand years ago, migrated to India, past Malaya, and ended up in Australia, Papua, Fiji and the Oceanic Islands. These original Orang Asli's are called Australo-Melanesians. Proof of this is in Archaeological Sites such as Perak Man, Niah Caves (40,000 yrs ago), Lake Mungo Australia (50,000 years ago) Pa Thaem (40,000yrs ago), and so on. Hundreds and hundreds of Sites dot the entire Landscape, and not one contradicts each other. Cambridge University has also embarked on mapping the human genome, and so have many other reputable Universities and Institutions, including the National Geographic Society. They have ALL reached the same conclusion. And that Conclusion is that all of mankind walked out of Africa circa 120,000 years ago. Underneath our skin, we are all African. Are we?

In the previous theory, we were also told that our skins became lighter as Homo Sapiens stayed in cooler climates and their Melanin content became fairer and fairer. However, many people were skeptical, and even scientists were slightly apprehensive about this "lightening of skin" process, not because it could not happen, but that the time it took, was simply too short. I was always confused about this skin-lightening issue myself. Well, enter the Homo Neanderthalis. 15 years ago, at my University, I presented a talk on the possibility perhaps Homo Neanderthalis inter-bred with the Homo Sapiens. I was immediately shot down. People said that it was just not possible. Obviously, I was then sent for counseling, and was assigned to be "reprogrammed" by "Religious People" that Man, who is made in God's image, was NOT to interbreed with ANY MONKEY! Never had, and never will. And was taught that Bestiality was abhorrent !! Bestiality means man having sex animals. Furthermore, I was also duly informed that I would be charged in court for "promoting Sex with Animals" if I did not immediately shut up. To be fair, I was only guessing, and did not have any real hard data on me at that time. I dutifully accepted the chastise and rebuke.

Fast Forward till 2010. The BBC carried a report which details how Homo Neanderthalis DNA is found in Homo Sapiens. I was so excited to hear about it, that I started calling up old friends in this field, and was eager to get the low-down on the details. A year has passed since then, and many new interesting discoveries have been made. It has now been determined that EVERY single Non-African on this planet carries 1-4% of Homo Neanderthalis DNA.

The Homo Neanderthalis lived predominantly in Europe, stretching across till the southern tip of Siberia. They lived from 250,000 years ago till 35,000 years ago. They had a brief overlap with the Homo Sapiens in Europe for 5,000 years, from 35,000 till 30,000 years ago. That 5,000 years was simply crucial for this interbreeding to happen. Elsewhere in the Middle East and Ukraine, they had an even longer period of overlap. This also helps fill that "missing-link" space. The question was, why there was jump from Dark-Skins to Fair Skins in such a short period of time? The answer is so readily available (via DNA of course) that it was caused by the fact that Homo Neanderthalis is indeed Fair-skinned. If we look at the Australo Melanesians from this region, they stayed Dark-Skined throughout their 60,000 year stay in Malaysia. The Papuans, the Fijians, and even the Australian Aborigines stayed dark-skinned.

Today, we can conclusively say, and with much confidence too, that the fairer one's skin is, the more Neanderthal DNA we have (at least, at the Epidural Level). The Africans have ZERO Neanderthal DNA. and neither do the Orang Asli's who never interbred with any of their Indonesian (Pendatang) Cousins. By this DNA discovery, not only are ANY fair-skinned person a Hybrid of the Homo Neanderthalis-Sapien, it means that ONLY the Africans are the ONLY True-Blue Homo Sapiens, aka HUMAN !! I am proud to announce that the Negritos, Fijians and Papuans are ALSO True Blue Homo Sapiens!

The rest of us are simply Hybrids !!

And as DNA tells us, the fairer one is, the MORE Neanderthal DNA they have. There has always been a form of "racism" against dark-skinned people. Now we know why. It is the Neanderthal in them which is shouting "I WANT TO BE MY ORIGINAL WHITE SELF !!!"

Upon reading, this one can argue, and scream and shout, and rant. But this is what the DNA tells us. I cannot help you, if you do not agree. Perhaps I can suggest that you start a RIOT in front of the Medical Facility which does conduct DNA testings, and also, that Anwar's Case be thrown out of the window, because it is now this same DNA, (which you claim is false) is up someone's ass.

Yes. Discard the DNA, make it inadmissible, Shut down the entire DNA Facility, and bring in the FOUR MALE witnesses instead !!

For those wishing to further their knowledge, the Homo Neanderthalis DNA bridges the gap of the other alternate Theory, of the the Multi-Region Theory of Evolution:

In fact, this new data compliments and supports it, since we now know that once can insert the 4% Homo Neanderthalis DNA at the base of every stem from each of the 2 Racial-Groups sandwiched between the Homo Erectus and Archaic stage. Also for the uninitiated, what this page tagged as "The Australians" are NOT the White ex-British Cons. They refer to the same cluster as the Malaysian Negritos.

Since a long time ago, the Human Brain's increase in size, from it's monkey days, has always been attributed to "Superior Intelligence". Agree or disagree, we now know that the Homo Neanderthalis had a HUGE brain. In fact it is much larger than ours. I now have a simple question for you. If a 7ft mother married a 4ft Husband. What is the most probable height of their child? Logic will immediately tell us that it is most likely somewhere in-between. Not so likely to be as tall as the 7ft mother, and not so likely to be as short as the 4ft husband. The height of this child will be somewhere in-between. This is perhaps exactly what happened to the brain-size increase for humans. It became larger because of interbreeding with Homo Neanderthalis.

Now, the BBC News carried a story which is so wrong, They claimed that this new 1-4% Neanderthalis DNA discovery in ALL non-African Homo Sapiens "proves" that the "Out of Africa Theory" is wrong. In fact, this new discovery does NOT disprove the "Out of Africa" of "Eve Theory", but rather, fortifies it and even bridges the "Multi-Region Theory", making it now possible for all three previously seemingly "opposing" theories to converge, and sit tightly together as a single unit. Most forget that the Homo Neanderthalis is NOT an Alien as Erich von Däniken , Zechariah Sitchin or Alan F Alford proposed, but they too, migrated out of Africa at 250,000years ago. And now that we know that they had 220,000 years to become fair (living in the cold region of Europe), had thus plenty of time to become fair, or that they were previously either Albino or "White Monkeys", not unlike the Alouatta Caraya species.

So, in a sense, this even bridges that "gap", but instead of attributing that "jump" or sudden "advance", it is now filled with Homo Neanderthalis. What does this all mean?

Previously, the Neanderthals were thought to be stupid, and dumb cave-men-like creatures. This was because of the Ethnocentricity of people. We now know that the Neanderthals were smart. In fact, they were so smart, that they managed to survive 250,000 years of continuous Ice-Ages and heat waves. The supposedly modern Homo Sapien, with all his Modern gadgets can barely survive in such Artic-like conditions without the help of modern day equipment. Try this 250,000 years ago.

What is even more interesting now, will be my new proposal that it was the Homo Neanderthalis who gave Homo Sapiens "Religion". And why do I dare to propose that?

The Neanderthals were known to bury their dead. Animals do not do that. Supposedly only because "Man is Superior" and has an understanding of the concept of the After-Life does Man decide to bury their dead. The Neanderthals buried their dead with Flowers, and Jewelry (just like the Egyptians but without the mummification). And these sites are strewn all over Europe but have a higher concentration in Iran. Iran, Iraq peoples are and were Nomadic. If I can be so bold as to re-label them as IRANQ (pronounced Ee-runk) then this would be the Mother of present day religions. Abraham came from the Land of Ur, and the Land of Ur is in Iran. And from Abraham, came the Judaeo-Christian-Islamic Traditions. Hinduism came from Iran (8,000 years ago) Writing came from Iran, and Zorastarianism also came from Iran. (The Bahai, which is also from Iran, is but claiming that ALL Religions are correct, hence I cannot use this as a "Religion" in the true sense of the word) In fact, the Middle East had more than 6,000 Religions at that time. This started even before the Bronze-Age Religions which the Bahai's claim to come from.

The Neanderthals had already been burying their dead from since (at least 150,000 years ago. This is 30,000 years older than the oldest known Homo Sapien Grave, of the 110,000 yrs in a cave in Southern Israel. Then why the Middle East? If you look back at the map above again, it would not be too hard to conclude that this was simply because it had the highest concentration of Neanderthals. If one also looks at the map more closely, you will notice that it more-or-less directly corresponds with the habitat of the Caucasoids as well.

This also corresponds with the distribution of those found with Neanderthal DNA. The Hyoid Bone is known as the "Voice-Box" in the common language. The Neanderthal's Hyoid Bone was fully capable of speech, albeit with a lower voice. So perhaps the Jewish "censored" Lilith Story, which was the First and Original Wife of Adam had it's truths? She did go east, to the Land of Nod to marry "Other Men". Were these the Neanderthals? And the mark on Cain's head was also to prevent "The other tribes" from harming him. Were these "Other Tribes" really just the Neanderthals? The Bible, The Koran, and the Jewish Bibles speak a lot about "The Land of Giants" as well. Could these Giants be the Neanderthals as well?

Science will allow us to move ahead, and make new discoveries. And it that process, probably rewrite the old proposals, or amend them. This has so clearly been the case since it's original proposal at 150 years ago by Charles Darwin. Let UMNO rave and rant about "Race & Superiority". The rest of us Academicians, Intellectuals, and Researchers will surge ahead new and exciting discoveries.

Regardless whether one chooses to "believe" in DNA or not, the truth of the matter is that the entire Human, and pre-human History is well recorded inside our bodies.

We all had the same origins, whether we call them Adam & Eve or the "Eve Theory", we are made from the same HydroCarbonSapiens are truly part of that Animal Kingdom ourselves. material as all other life on this planet.

There is NO Dominion over all the animals. We, Homo Sapiens are truly part of that Animal Kingdom ourselves

Perbicaraan mahkamah kes liwat Dato’ Seri Anwar Ibrahim (DSAI) sedang lancar berlangsung sekarang. Setiap hari teman baca di internet lapurannya. Suratkhabar tak main dah. Teman tak sentuh pun suratkhabar sebab tak boleh harap langsung. Berat sebelah bebenor, bak kata orang Perak.

‘In camera’ bak kata orang putih.

Alangkah terkejut beruknya teman bila dapat tahu yang minta sesi ‘in camera’ adalah ketua pihak pembelaan, Karpal Singh, the Tiger of Jelutong himself!

Oh begitu, jawab teman. Tawar hati teman nak pergi ke mahkamah sekarang.
