Najib hosts Raya open house in Paris

PARIS: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak hosted a 1Malaysia Hari Raya open house shortly after his arrival for a four-day working visit here yesterday. The premier also met with Malaysian students before the open house attended by more than 900 people including French officials and business leaders, at the historic Pavilion Dauphine.
Also present were Foreign Minister Datuk Anifah Aman, Deputy International Trade and Industry Minister Datuk Mukhriz Mahathir, Deputy Education Minister Dr Mohd Puad Zarkashi and Malaysian Ambassador to France Datuk S. Thanarajasingam.
The thrust of the open house is the 1Malaysia spirit in Paris, which showcased how the country’s multi-cultural communities celebrated their festivities.

Two Malaysian chefs – Hasbullah Satani from Maya Hotel and Saiful Helmi from Royal Chulan Hotel – were flown in from Kuala Lumpur to whip up an array of culinary delights.
Earlier, Najib and his wife, Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, arrived in a private jet from Dubai at the Le Bourget Airport.
They were met by Anifah, Mukhriz, Dr Mohd Puad and Thanarajasingam before being whisked to the Four Seasons Hotel in the city where a hectic programme awaits the premier over the next few days.
This is Najib’s first visit to France as Prime Minister where he will hold talks with French President Nicolas Sarkozy, Prime Minister Francois Fillon and French National Assembly president Bernard Accoyer.
France perceives Malaysia as a progressive Muslim, multi-racial and multi-religious country with a modern economy.
