Bank Negara international reserves decline
KUALA LUMPUR: Bank Negara Malaysia’s international reserves were at RM345.55bil as at Oct 31, down RM26.21bil from RM371.76bil on Oct 15.
The central bank said on Friday the RM345.55bil was equivalent to US$100.21bil. The reserves of RM371.76bil on Oct 15 was equivalent to US$107.58bil.
“The reserves position (as at Oct 31) is sufficient to finance 8.1 months of retained imports and is 3.7 times the short-term external debt,” it said in a statement posted on its website.
Bank Negara’s international reserves were also lower compared with the RM379.35bil (US$109.74bil) on Sept 30.
