We all have different ways of handling problems.
Some throw their hands in the air and start lashing out who ever the feel is the source of the problem. Leaving broken relationships in the wake of their frustration. While blaming others for these problems, looking for answers anywhere other then themselves.
While others know that problems are an inevitable part of life, often filled with opportunities to grow and become a stronger person. Even when faced with problems that may not be from their making, they take PERSONAL responsibility in the outcome and become stronger on the other side of the problem.
Let’s take a look at some steps to take when faced with some unforeseen problems:
Problem: You supposed to board a plane coming home from the west coast but there is a hurricane coming up the east coast that has canceled all flights to the east coast.
1. Define the ideal outcome. In this case, it would be to get home as quickly as possible.
2. Put together as many options as possible. Can you rent a car and start driving? Are there more people in the same situation, can you rent a van? When are the next flights, can you get on another airline? Can you fly to a city closer to the city you are trying to get to and rent a car from there?
3. Start to take forward action. Sitting there stewing about the problem will only make it worse. And it will impede any forward action towards your ideal outcome.
People that look to others to constantly solve their problems, never really reach their full potential as human beings. And that is a sad way to live a life.
As Always, Here’s to Your LifetoSuccess,
